Whale Watching
Latch onto the opportunity of witnessing the most intelligent creatures of the planet put on a subtle show of coordination on the deep blue waters off the coast of Mirissa. The amazing whale and dolphin watching experiences arise from the waters during the months of May through November. Watch out for all the different species of whales and dolphins that come out to play, especially the world’s largest animal – the Blue whale.
Mirissa Beach
Flamboyance aside, there’s tons of activities to do in the azure waters of Mirissa. Snorkel alongside the whales in the waters of unhindered visibility or take a deep dive to explore further depths of the ocean and escape the surface heat. Back on the shore, you could entail on a romantic walk along the crescent beach and prepare for a feast in a restaurant facing the crystal-clear ocean view.
Coconut Tree Hill
A top destination in Mirissa is the Coconut Tree hill, a small, scaled hill with fair plantations of coconut trees around it, towering the land on which they grow. Being a great place to witness both the sunrise and sunset over the Mirissa beach, the best time to avoid crowds would be to make your way here during the morning and afternoon. Everyone loves to get an Insta-worthy panoramic picture here, so make sure you bring your camera alongside.
Parrot Rock Bridge
Lying desolate from the land a few hundred meters off the seashore lies what seems like an independent rocky island – half eroded showing weathered rock and soil in all shades of dark red-brown while the other half is covered in thick green vegetation. On this rock lies a flight of stairs leading to its flat peak, overlooking the ocean towards the front and the coastline and city towards the back.
